Finding His Way to the Top: A Look at Samuel J. Foti

When it comes to success stories in the modern American era, few of them are quite as rich and poignant as the tale of Samuel J. Foti, a self made man who used what his father taught him to take himself to a true level of greatness. While he had a successful father to look at, Sam did not believe in living off of others and set himself up towards success early in his life. He knew he needed great grades so that he could achieve his dreams and as a result, he studied hard and gained admittance into the Wharton School of Business upon his graduation from high school. He studied there and graduated in 1974, during a time when the United States economy was in less than excellent condition. Sam didn’t let that get to him and chose, instead, to pursue more education by gaining a Masters in Finance and Investing from the Graduate School of Arts and Science at the University of Pennsylvania.

After solidifying his educational background, he set to work helping his father take the family business in the metal hose manufacturing sector to the peak of success. Under the guidance of Sam Foti as President, Hose Masters, Inc,. rose up the ranks to become a top dog in the world of hose manufacturing. His innovative techniques and ability to apply what he learned in school to real world situations helped Sam become a true revolutionary in the manufacturing world, but he wasn’t ready to stop there. He went on to insurance and became a licensed underwriter, rising up the ranks to ascend to the presidency of The MONY Group in the late 1990’s. Here he has held not only power, but influence for good. Today he is a Venture Capitalist helping other companies find their success in the business world.
